Ally is the daughter of the owner of Samuel's Clothing company, accused by Jack of stealing clothing. He was insistent on arresting her, even if the clothes were intended to help the poor. Turns out the clothing was to be donated to the poor out of her own goodwill. Hmm... a beautiful, spirited young woman with a heart of gold? Sounds like just the right girl for Jack! It's a shame the only glimpse of romance on SPD happened at the very end of the series, limiting Ally's appearance to three episodes, but it was a nice touch to include. The time Jack spent with Ally reminded him of his real passion in life: helping those in need. He felt he'd gone astray with his service in SPD, losing sight of the individuals he could really help in a bigger world of monsters and galactic emergencies. When finally given the opportunity, Jack returned to his calling, working as a low key volunteer at Ally's side to improve the lives of the needy one at a time.
