I'll admit... I wasn't really sure how to categorize this couple. What it a mere attraction, or did these Turbo Rangers actually develop the deeper feelings of a romance? After plenty of deliberation, I decided that there is no evidence of those deeper, character-strengthening emotions that constitutes a canon romance. Still, I loved the chemistry between them in "A Drive to Win," in which the hotshot soccer star flirted with the spirited cheerleader. I thought there was romance in the air, but apparently it fizzled at some point before they became Turbo Rangers, as Ashley had several interests during her career as the Yellow Ranger, culminating with Andros. Still, fans of this match can take to heart that Ashley and Carlos maintained a strong friendship, which is evidenced by the numerous times they appeared together in Power Rangers in Space.
