While nothing ever happened between these two Rangers, it certainly doesn't take much of a stretch to imagine it. It sure looked like there was an instant attraction between the Yellow and Silver Space Rangers. At their meeting, Ashley pushed passed Andros to introduce herself, and Zhane was stunned silent as he gazed at her, excusing himself by saying "I've never met a female Ranger before." Uh... didn't he meet Cassie two seconds earlier? And he certainly didn't kiss Cassie's hand. And then in the following episode, there were plenty of what looked like flirtatious glances between them (and we're not the only ones who saw it... Andros did also). Sure, Zhane claimed that he and Ashley were just friends, and that he'd never go after Andros' girl... but if Andros didn't like Ashley, I'd wager the Silver Ranger would've upped the charm to the maximum.
