When we first met these two future Galaxy Rangers, they were side by side at the port of Terra Venture, hurrying to report to their training session on time. Kai was more than a little upset when Leo carelessly crashed into Kendrix... especially when he noticed her reaction. Later, when Leo saved Kendrix's life from an explosion during training, Kai was very agitated at the thought of any harm befalling his friend. Kendrix and Kai were clearly very close friends, both sharing a curiosity and determination to fulfill one's goals that enabled them to join Terra Venture's mission. Were they a couple? Well... no. But, could they have been? If Leo Corbett never stepped foot onto Terra Venture, and if they weren't "chosen," I'd wager they would've gotten together. But, alas, Power Ranger-ing was rather distracting, and Kendrix's flirting with Leo certainly didn't help matters. And finally, Kendrix's near-death took her off the show for a great deal of time. Still, I think Kai seemed more ecstatic to see her again than Leo... so maybe there is something between them?
