Dustin: "A ninja's most valuable weapon is his instinct. I just know there's some good somewhere inside Marah." All About Beevil
Dustin is really one compassionate, trusting person. Perhaps a little too trusting. After his bike is apparently stolen, he runs into Marah, who's in tears because Lothor banished her for not being evil enough. Despite Marah's history of disguise and deception, Dustin believes her tale, and urges her to join the forces of good. Marah agrees to help the Rangers, and even provides a device designed to drain Beevil, Lothor's replacement for his bumbling niece, of her dangerous power. The other Rangers and Sensei warn the Yellow Ranger of the risks involved in trusting one of Lothor's crew, but Dustin firmly believes in the young woman's sincerity. In the end, Marah reveals her true colors when the device intended to weaken Beevil in fact gives the monster a power surge. Dustin was literally teary-eyed when Marah laughed in his face, mocking his stupidity as she unleashed the enhanced Beevil against the Rangers. But the question is... was Marah merely performing, or were Dustin's instincts right? Several times in the series Marah had commented on how "cute" the male Rangers were, and her hysterics over the loss of her pet goldfish emphasized a loving nature beneath her mischievous, tempermental exterior. The two lengthy interactions between Marah and Dustin in "All About Beevil" were peppered with grins, casual touches, and lingering gazes, and both Dustin and Marah were teased by their teammates for liking the other. Marah may have professed to be "evil through and through," but she was visibly hurting when she was reminded of her cruel betrayal of Dustin's trust. We'll have to see what develops between this unlikely couple, but if you want my opinion, I think Dustin and Marah make a wonderful match!
